(1) How much do upgrades cost?

All upgrades for ConverTable Units, Alchemist's Challenge, ChemDuet, and UpTime Log have been free so far. For example, you bought our ConverTable Units software when it was version 1.0, you can upgrade to the latest version for free. Our policy is only to charge for very large updates. Periodic Table 4 represents a large, substantial update over all previous versions, and to upgrade from 3.5.2 (the last 3.x version) to Periodic Table 4 you may purchase an upgrade license. The cost to upgrade from any previous version of Periodic Table to Periodic Table 4 is $15. Periodic Table 3 purchases made in the year before the release of Periodic Table 4 (or or after October 1, 2004) need not pay this upgrade fee.

In some (rare) cases, you may need to request an updated code (as for Periodic Table upgrades from 1.x versions).

(2) How do I get an upgrade?

Visit our downloads page. Download the new version of the software. Unzip (or Unstuff) it (this may happen automatically), if not, drag ".sit" files you downloaded to the StuffIt Expander program's icon. Some of our Mac OS X software, and our Windows XP software, is distributed as .zip archives. Mac OS X 10.3 or later and Windows XP can open these .zip archives with no additional software--simply double-click the .zip file's icon to unzip it. After expanding the .sit or .zip archive, you can put the folder containing our software anywhere on your hard drive. However, the standard location for Mac OS 9 is the "Applications (Mac OS 9)" folder and for Mac OS X the "Applications" folder.

(3) You sent me a registration code that doesn't work.

If the code you received still does not work, please try the following:  First, use copy and paste to make sure you're getting the code exactly as we provided it in the email.  99% of the time this solves the problem.  The code has to be exact, capital letters, spaces, etc., matter.  If that does not work, contact us so that we can be of further assistance.

Other (rarer) possible problems:

If you have a 1.x or 2.x version of Periodic Table, you need to upgrade to a 3.x or 4.x version to use the codes currently being generated. Go to our downloads page and get the latest version. Plus, 3.x versions are much better than 1.x and 2.x versions anyway! (If you need to use an older version, contact us with the name you registered the new version under and registration code if possible, and we will email you an old code.)

If you have a 1.x version of ConverTable Units, you need to upgrade to a 2.x version to use the codes currently being generated. Go to our downloads page and get the latest version. Plus, 2.x versions are much better than 1.x versions anyway! (If you need to use an older version, contact us with the name you registered the new version under and registration code if possible, and we will email you an old code.)

If you registered our Periodic Table software when it was version 1.0, 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, 1.3.1, or 1.4, you need to request a new registration code for later (2.0 and newer) versions.  Simply contact us with the name you registered the earlier version under and old registration code if possible, and we will email you a new code.

(4) I have a 1.x version of Periodic Table. My registration code doesn't work with Periodic Table 2.x (or 3.x). Can I upgrade to the latest version?

Version 3.5.2 is free for all registered users; however, if you have a registration code for a 1.x version, you need to contact us to receive a new code.  Please include the name/company you registered the software under before, and the old registration code if possible. To upgrade to Periodic Table 4, there is an upgrade fee.

(5) I lost my registration code.
