15 December 2003  Periodic Table 3.5  is available for download. This version adds data for atomic volume, 4th ionization energies, sources (ores, etc.) of the elements, improved Bohr models, fixes when running in Panther, and several other minor improvements. 3.5 is a free update to registered users, and is available for Mac OS X (10.1.5 or later recommended) and Mac OS 8.1 or later. Periodic Table 3.5 works great with Mac OS X 10.3 "Panther".

2 December 2003  We hate it when that happens.... ConverTable Units 2.4.1 is now available for download. Oops... the Mac OS X version of ConverTable Units 2.4 released yesterday introduced an annoying bug of repeating each key pressed in the calculator (not the main conversion window). 2.4.1 fixes this bug. 2.4.1 is available for Mac OS X (10.1.5 or later).

1 December 2003  ConverTable Units 2.4  is now available for download. ConverTable Units 2.4 increases the number of available units to over 400! New plug-in conversion categories include Electric Charge, Electric Conductance, Magnetic Flux, Luminance, Illuminance, Radioactivity, Volumetric Flow, and Pre-Euro Currencies. In addition, many existing plug-ins and built-in categories have been enhanced. Finally, some small fixes for Panther are included (including the "Double Help" menu glitch described below). A must-have upgrade! It's a free upgrade for registered users! ConverTable Units 2.4 costs $15 for a single-user license, and is available for Mac OS X (10.1.5 or later) and Mac OS 8.1 through 9.x.

20 November 2003  ConverTable Planets 1.6.1  is now available for download. This version fixes the Panther "Double Help" menu glitch described below. Otherwise, nothing has changed from version 1.6. In fact, this bug only appears in the English version, so the French version remains at 1.6. And, because the bug only appears in Panther, naturally the OS 8/9 versions have not been updated. ConverTable Planets is freeware and is available in native versions for Mac OS X (10.1.5 or later recommended) and Mac OS 8.1 through 9.x.

19 November 2003  Version 1.3.1 of Alchemist's Challenge is now available. Alchemist's Challenge 1.3.1 fixes the Panther "Double Help" menu glitch described below, and a few other minor issues. Alchemist's Challenge provides numerous customizable quizzes to test your knowledge and understanding of the periodic table and beginning chemistry. Naturally, Alchemist's Challenge goes great with our Periodic Table software. Be sure to let us know what you like and don't like about Alchemist's Challenge! Version 1.3.1 is available for both Mac OS X (10.1.5 or newer) and the "Classic" Mac OS (Mac OS 8.1 or newer). (Free upgrade for registered users.)

19 November 2003  Mac OS X 10.3 Panther and "Double Help"  We're happy to report that the current versions of Periodic Table (3.4), ConverTable Units (2.3), ConverTable Planets (1.6), MacASCII Display (1.3), and Alchemist's Challenge (1.3) have been tested and work great with Mac OS X 10.3 "Panther". One minor glitch when running in Panther shared by all of the above programs (except for the French localized version of ConverTable Planets 1.6) is that there are two "Help" menus. This is a cosmetic problem, and causes no functional issues. We will, however, release updates soon which will fix this minor visual glitch for Panther users.

30 June 2003  ConverTable Units 2.3  is now available for download. ConverTable Units 2.3 adds the ability to convert values in external text files, adds a plug-in for linear weight, and more. It's a free update for registered users.

30 June 2003  Spam Filtering and Contacting Us.  We've made some changes in the way we receive email in hopes reducing the amount of spam in our inbox. We're doing everything we can to insure that the tiny percent of email that isn't spam (sigh!) isn't filtered out as spam. But, if you email us and do not receive a prompt response, please use the form on our contact page to write to us. This will help us sort past all the spam, and therefore help us answer your questions faster. (See also the earlier 3 March 2003 news item.)

7 May 2003  Lisez-moi !  Eric Melot has posted a webpage for the French translation of ConverTable Planets 1.6. Merci beaucoup! Also, if you read French, Eric has a wonderful website for educational Mac software.

29 April 2003  Combien pèseriez-vous sur la Lune ?  ConverTable Planets 1.6 is now available for download. This version adds Voyager 2 images of two Uranian moons, Umbriel and Titania. Also, a French localized version is available, thanks to Eric Melot. (Go to our download page to find the French version.) 3 March 2003  Retro table... Got an old 68K Mac just sitting around doing nothing? Go retro with version 3.0.6 of Synergy Creations' Periodic Table! Version 3.0.6 is an update of 3.0.4, the previous "last" 68K version, released in 2002. Version 3.0.6 incorporates all the bug fixes and data updates made as of the "standard" PowerPC and MacOS X version 3.3.3 of Periodic Table. However, none of the features added since 3.0.4 are included in this special 68K-only version 3.0.6. Get it? Anyway, if you are actually using the 68K version of Periodic Table, we'd love to hear from you. It should run pretty well on Quadra-class Macs with Mac OS 8 or System 7.5 and 10MB of free RAM...

3 March 2003  Email change. In the past, this website mentioned two synergycreations.com email addresses beginning with "version2" and "convertable". Please don't use these addresses to contact us, as email sent to these addresses will no longer be received. (They have been filled with spam, and received no real messages for many months.) Thank you! The "contact us" or "email" link at the bottom of all webpages on this site will always give you a current contact address.

18 February 2003  Version 1.3 of MacASCII Display is now available. MacASCII Display now offers the ability to generate HTML decimal and hexadecimal codes from text, now handles large text blocks better in OS X, and more! MacASCII Display is freeware, and is available for Mac OS X (10.1.5 or later, 10.2 or later recommended). A version for the "Classic" Mac OS 8.1 or later is also available.
